To Those Who Wait

A story about a young New Zealand girl's dream of going to university to make something of herself, being dashed by a father who believes a son is more worthy of further education than a girl.

Laura then turns her attention to the theatre. Here she finds success. She meets George, the man of her dreams. They head for London to try to make it in the theatre.

She is badly let down and returns home, feeling angry and bitter. This story follows her life, its highs and its lows. The other members of her family, two sisters and a brother show how they also struggled to find happiness.
